Platinum Jubilee Celebration at Lingchom Senior Secondary School enters eighth consecutive day
Gyalshing, April 10 (IPR) :
The Platinum Jubilee Celebration of Government Senior Secondary School, Lingchom under Yangthang constituency, Gyalshing district in its Eighth day of celebration had enthralling football matches and cultural dance performances.
Mr Tenzing D Denzongpa District Collector Gyalshing graced the celebration as the Chief Guest accompanied by Mr Tshering Sherpa Superintendent of Police Gyalshing as Guest of Honour.
The eighth day of commemoration witnessed gracious presence of Mr SP Mangyung OSD Culture Deptt,Mr Purna Bir Limboo Zilla member 09 Lingchom Tikjya Yangthang TC,
Mr Narad Cintury Additional Director AH&VS Deptts,Mr Karma Sherpa Additional Director Agriculture & Horticulture Deptts,Ms Nikjey Lhamu Bhutia JD Sports & Youth Affairs Department Gyalshing,Mr JP Subba DE Power Department,Ms Yangden Shipmoo Principal Lingchom SSS,Mr Pem Dorjee Bhutia DPO Zilla, Mr Krishna Limboo DIO IPRD Gyalshing, Mr Dinesh Pradhan AD Education, Mr Rajen Tamang AD Education, MEO Gyalshing, Bazar officer Gyalshing, ADs, AEOs,panchayat representatives of Lingchom Tikjya GPU, officials, Celebration Committee and local gentry.
The Chief Guest, Mr Denzongpa DC Gyalshing extended his congratulatory wishes to the organising committee for the progressing celebration. He praised Principal and the SMC representatives of the school for their persistent efforts made toward elevation of the school's stature. He maintained on providing all requisite support for school's development and aspirations.
Mr Rajesh Thapa Joint Director Education provided exclusive glimpse into the school's glorious history and mentioned some of the eminent names from the school's alumni that had been able to earned accolades for the school, appreciated in the entire country.
Ms Yangden Shipmoo Principal Govt Senior Secondary School Lingchom in her address, briefly mentioned about the arrey of activities being executed during the Platinum Jubilee Celebration. She shared that a total of Twenty-Four Teams in Men's Open Football Tournament and Eight teams for Inter-School Open Girls Football Tournament had made their participation. She asserted that, through the activities of Cultural performances and Sporting events the main aim is to inculcate all round personality development amongst students.
The eighth consecutive day of the celebration witnessed a total of Three Football Matches played across the catagories.
The First Match of the day was played under the 'Inter School Girls Football' catagory, Bongten Senior Secondary School secured victory over Lingchom Senior Secondary School, with the score on board of 4 goals against 1 goal of the latter. Jursey No. 14, Ms Ashmita Thapa from Lingchom SSS was awarded, Player of the Match.
The Second Match was played under the catagory of Men's Open Football Tournament wherein, Darap Football Association with the goal score tally of 1 against Nil, clinched victory over Sancha Man Limboo Government College, Gyalshing. Mr Sisnal Limboo of Darap FA was the Man of the Match.
In the Third Match, also under the catagory of Men's Open Football Tournament was played in between Yangthang Sporting Club Vs Mangshabung FC, with the score on board of 2 against 1 goal Yangthang SC advanced in the tournament. Mr Ong Tshering Bhutia from the latter team was the Man of the Match.
Mr Hemant Sharma former student of the GSSS Lingchom performed rendition of the poem titled "Kaaran Timi Sangai Cha". Students hailing from Lungzick JHS, Green Vale Academy and Lingchom SSS even mesmerised the spectators with their dance performances.
Token of gratitude was also bestowed upon DC Gyalshing and SP Gyalshing.
It may be mentioned here that, the winning team of the football tournament would receive a cash prize of ₹2 lakh, while the runner-up team would be awarded ₹1.5 lakh.
Earlier,Mr KB Limboo accorded a warm welcome to the Chief guest, Guest of honour and invited esteemed dignitaries.
Mr Ganga Ram Chapagai Vice President Organising Committee extended vote of thanks.
