Gangtok, November 5 (IPR):
The Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang met and interacted with the students selected to participate in the prestigious Japan Science High School Program, also known as the Sakura Science Program, set to take place in Japan from November 10 -16, 2024.
The Chief Minister extended his best wishes to the students and encouraged them to make the most of this incredible opportunity.
Pursuant to the Ministry of Education's suggestion, the Education Department invited district-wide nominations for top-performing science students from Classes XI and XII, with equal gender representation. Four students and one reserve (the 5th highest scorer) were selected based on their outstanding Class X Board examination results.
This initiative aims to foster youth exchange between Japan and other countries, focusing on advancements in science and technology.
The students will be accompanied by Mr Roshan Sharma, PGT Physics who will guide them through this enriching experience.
