Gangtok, 28th Jan 2020: (IPR) The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, Lieutenant General, Shri Anil Chauhan along with GOC, Sukna based 33-Trishakti Corps, Lieutenant General, Shri Nav K Khanduri and GOC, 17th Mountain Division, Gangtok, Major General, R. C Tiwari called on Hon'ble Governor, Shri Ganga Prasad at Raj Bhawan, this evening.

The Army Commander briefed the Hon'ble Governor about the present security situation at Sikkim borders and he mentioned situation is peaceful.

The Hon'ble Governor appreciated Army efforts at Nathula for rescuing thousands of tourists and providing them with basic administrative facilities during an emergency.

The Hon'ble Governor has also given best wishes to General Officer Commanding-in-Chief; Eastern Command for his tenure at Kolkata based Army formation.
