The Ten Days Long Gyalpo Losar Celebration concluded

Gyalshing, 23rd February, 2020 (IPR): The Ten Days Long Gyalpo Losar Celebration concluded with a special function at Martam Primary School, West Sikkim, today.

Hon'ble Minister-cum-Area MLA of Gyalshing Bermiok Constituency Shri. Lok Nath Sharma graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the Hon'ble Minister, Energy and Power, Shri. M. N. Sherpa was present as the Guest of Honour.

The programme, organised by Bhoudha Sherpa Samaj committee, also had the presence of Chairman, Gyalshing Municipal Council Shri. I. K. Neopaney, ASP (West) Shri. Nakul Pradhan, Officials, Panchayats and others.

Addressing the gathering Minister Sharma, extended best wishes of Gyalpo Losar to the organisers and entire communities. He also underlined the need and requirements placed by the local public and informed that the state government is working on war footing level to address the necessities and grievances of public at the earliest.

Minister Lok Nath Sharma also encouraged the public to adopt agriculture as a lucrative profession and articulated on the future scope of agro-tourism, productivity and natural potential of the area. He also threw lights on various schemes and programmes of the Government to uplift unemployed youths and further emphasised on advantage of taking private sectors of business for livelihood and ownership.

During the programme, the final match of Gyalpo Losar Futsal Tournament was played between Sangku FC and Kaluk Seven Brother.
The event also saw traditional cultural programme.
