Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Visits EMRS Suntaley
Namchi, April 15 (IPR): Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Government of India, Mr Durgadas Uikey, visited Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Suntaley as part of his official tour.
During his visit, he inspected the classrooms and other school facilities.
The Principal of EMRS Dr Amar Kanti Jana, delivered a PowerPoint presentation outlining the overview of school and its progress.
Addressing the teaching and administrative staff, the Minister suggested involving students in agricultural and management activities to help them develop essential life skills and promote self-reliance.
He encouraged on providing nutritious meals to support the physical and mental well-being of the students.
Additionally, he advocated for initiatives to prepare students for participation in various competitive fields, expressing the aim of developing EMRS into a leading institution in the country.
As part of his Sikkim tour, the Minister is scheduled to visit Soreng district from tomorrow.
The visit was attended by Area MLA Mr N B Pradhan, Zilla Adakshya Namchi Ms Anjita Rajalim, Secretary Social Welfare Department Ms Sarika Pradhan, Special Secretary Social Welfare Department Mr Suman Gurung, DC Namchi Ms Anupa Tamling, ADC Namchi Ms Tirsang Tamang, SDM (HQ) Mr Nim Pintso Bhutia and other officials.
