Swacchata hi Seva (SHS)
Theme: Swacchata mein Jan Bhaagidari

BSI SHRC Gangtok carried out the Swacchata hi Seva (SHS) programme on 22-09-2024 in Doksing-Luing Village, Gangtok. As part of SHS 2.0, under Swacchatta mein Jan Bhaagidari theme and event named “Ek Ped Maa ke Naam” about more than 50 saplings of Ficus nerifolia and Acer campbelii were planted by the villagers.
Simultaneously, under the theme SafaiMitra Suraksha Shivirs of SHS 2.0, a health camp, in collaboration with the Regional Ayurvedic Research Institute, Gangtok was conducted for the people of Luing-Doksing and the staff of BSI. A total of 67 people attended the health camp and were screened for Anaemia, Diabetes, Hypertension, Respiratory diseases, Rheumatoid diseases like Gout, Arthritis, Piles, Gastric issues. 53 people were prescribed and given Ayurvedic medicines for their respective disease free of cost as part of Govt of India initiative by Ministry of Ayush. BSI organised the health camp under the leadership of Dr. Rajib Gogoi, Scientist F & Head of Office and Dr. Achintya Mitra, Assistant Director In-charge, Regional Ayurvedic Research Institute (CCRA) Ministry of Ayush, which was welcomed by the villagers wholeheartedly.
