Honorable Governor visits Temi Tea Garden: Aware of the tea production process and the movement of the staff
Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur visited Temi Tea Garden today during his two-day visit to Namchi District, where he gained information about the process of breaking tea leaves.
Mr. Ambalagan Sundaram, Managing Director of Temi Tea Garden, explained the process in detailed how tea leaves are broken and their quality is ensured. The Governor himself participated in breaking tea leaves and interacted with staff.
After this, Mr. Governor visited the tea factory and processing unit. The officials here gave a PowerPoint presentation on the overall process of tea processing. In this presentation, the Governor enquired about tea turnovers, marketing, best variety, weather, number of employees, their wages, working period and medical facilities etc which were provided by the management officer.
The Governor then visited various tea processing units including withering, rolling, fermentation, drawing, sorting and packaging. They gained information about the different stages of tea processing in each unit and observed the working style of the staff.
In this link, Hon'ble Governor also tasted different types of tea and appreciated his quality. The Temi Tea Garden Tea has made its identity not only locally but also globally, congratulating the entire team.
At the end of today, the Governor interacted with the working brothers of the tea garden. They gained information about the welfare and movement of the employees and distributed sweets to them. During this time, the Hon'ble Governor applauding the hard work and dedication of the labour brothers that the Temi tea garden is not only full of natural beauty, but it is also a symbol of the tireless hard work and dedication of the working labour brothers of our state which made it globally famous I have given it.
