On 19th November 2024, Awareness Programme on Various schemes of Agricultuire Department along with Kishan Gosthi was organized by Agriculture Department in coordination with ATMA, Gangtok at BAC Nandok.
Hon’ble Area MLA 23 Syari constituency Shree Tenzing Norbu Lamtha attended the programme as the Chief Guest ,he was accompanied by Mr. Lakpa Kagatey Zilla,Tathangchen Syari TC, Panchayat Presidents of four GPUs of Nandok, Additional Director(Horticulture) Shree Passang Tamang,Deputy Director(IPM) Dr. Roshna Gazmer, Dy.Director cum PD(Agriculture) Ms. Susmita Lama Tamang, state coordinator Mr. Kailash Subba (Future Generali) ,officials from Fisheries and Animal Husbandry,SHGs and progressive farmers were present for the said programme.
SHG’s members displayed their exhibits during the programme where MLA Sir visited their stalls and appreciated their dedication.
Ms. Susmita Lama DDA(Gangtok) addressed the gathering by highlighting on various schemes of Agriculture Department implemented in Nandok Block. She then emphasized on PMFBY and its importance for the farming community she also briefed about its benefits which includes providing financial support to the farmers in the event of crop loss due to natural calamities. She also informed the house about the technical assistance provided by ATMA.
Mr.Passang Tamang,Addl.Dir.(Horticulture) also briefed about the ongoing schemes of Horticulture Department emphasizing on Mukiya Mantri AtmaNirbhar Yojana(PIS).
Dr. Roshna Gazmer DD(IPM) informed the house about National Pest Surveillance Scheme(NPSS) an AI generated Application which can be used by farmers to detect various pest and Disease .
State coordinator(Future Generali) Shri Kailash Subba briefed the gathering about the process of registration for FasalBima, claim procedure and also TOLL FREE number (14447) as an additional form of claiming process.
During , Farmer Scientist Interaction various queries on wildlife intervention, Management of Fruit Drop of Sikkim Mandarian and Livestock Management were addressed.
Hon’ble Area MLA,Shree Tenzing Norbu Lamtha expressed his gratitude towards Agriculture Department for organizing the above programme for the benefit of farmers of Nandok Block. He urged and requested the farmers to take advantage of schemes provided by the departments which will enhance the economic growth by doubling their income. He also promised to provide assistance for the benefit of farmers of Nandok Block.
The programme concluded with token distribution of UV film for construction of low cost Green Houses under RKVY scheme, Pema Mitho SHG was awarded the best SHG and vote of thanks delivered by Ms.Pooja Pradhan(KS).
