Mangan Nagar Panchayat Launches Initiative for Paper and Plastic Waste Segregation
In a significant step towards sustainable waste management and environmental conservation, the Mangan Nagar Panchayat has officially launched a waste segregation initiative focused on separating paper and plastic waste. The initiative aims to recover the paper waste that creates problem in segregating the dry waste in the Material Recovery Facility.
As part of this campaign, designated trash bags (brown colored for paper & white colored for plastic) for segregating papers and plastics have been distributed to households and businesses across the Urban Local Body (ULB). This effort marks a major milestone in the Mangan Nagar Panchayat commitment in adopting ideal initiatives in the management of Municipal Waste.
The Initiative comes as a further step in the segregation processes, after successful implementation of the 3 Bin 1 Bag segregation concept (segregation of Wet waste, dry waste, domestic hazardous waste & Sanitary waste) of the ULB.
