Two Days Long Sensitization Programme Concluded at 22-Maneybong GPU under Gyalshing District.
Gyalshing,December 13:
The District Child Protection Unit, Gyalshing under the dynamic leadership and guidance of Miss Bhawana Subba, District Child Protection Officer, Gyalshing conducted two days long sensitization programme on Gender Based Violence at Aashirbad Children Home, Begha, Dentam and 22-Maneybong GPU Uttarey on 11th and 12th December, 2024 respectively.
The venue for the first day of the programme was Aashirbad Children Home Begha and the said programme was attended by executive members of Rose Mary Punch Club NGO, Medical Officer, Nurse from PHC Dentam, Police Personnel, and socially inclined members of the locality along with staffs of DCPU Gyalshing.
The second day of the programme was conducted at 22-Maneybong GPU, Uttarey and was attended by Deputy Director cum Child Develoment Project Officer (CDPO), Gyalshing District as the Chief Guest, along with Panchayat President and other ward members, Doctors, Police Personnel, Asha Workers, Agandwani Workers, local people and the staffs of DCPU Gyalshing.
At the onset Mr Mahadeo Sharma, Counselor, DCPU Gyalshing highlighted the gathering about the agendas of the program. The technical session during the two days long program was taken by Mr. Yogesh Nerola, Protection Officer (IC), and Miss Sangay Choden Bhutia, Legal cum Probation Officer, DCPU Gyalshing, wherein they talked about POCSO Act, 2012, Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act 2015, Child Helpline, various Legal Provisions-Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, The Sexual Harrasment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, various support systems available for the victims like One Stop Centre (OSC), Women Helpline (181), Women Hub, Domestic Incident Report (DIR), Child Helpline (1098), District Child Protection Unit(DCPU) and other such mechanisms in place.
The two days long programme on Gender Based Violence was concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr Nawraj Gurung, Data Analysts, DCPU Gyalshing.
