Soreng, December, 26: Under the vision of Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri. Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) to make "Addiction free Sikkim and mentally healthy Sikkim", and under the guidance of Shri. Aditya Golay Area MLA Soreng Chakung Constituency, first batch of ASHAs under Soreng District were trained on the module of SARATHI 1.0 (Supported by Titan Company Limited). On December 26th 2024, 37 ASHAs falling under Soreng CHC were trained at Rurban Community Complex Soreng.
The training Module covered topics related with:
1. Reduction of Substance misuse at Schools and Community level.
2. Promotion of mental well being.
3. Inculcation of Moral Values
The Resource person for the training were:
1. Dr. Menuka Tamang (Joint Director of Health Department).
2. Mr. L.B. Tamang (HEO Soreng CHC).
3. Mrs. Yamuna Sharma (Mental Health Councellor Soreng CHC).
4. Mr. Bishal Sharma (SARATHI Representative)
Now, these ASHAs will be forming SARATHI SAMAJ at their respectively villages, in order to make their villages free from Addiction and Mentally Healthy. Further, Sarathi Samaj will organise quarterly activities towards the said objectives. Also, during the training two students of Soreng Sr. Sec. School will be volunteered.
