Gangtok, 15th January2025:
Mr Arun Kumar Upreti, Minister, Cooperation Department and Rural Development Department cum Area MLA Arithang Constituency handed over Ex gratia cheques to the individuals who were affected by the recent fire outbreak at Sisa Golai, Gangtok.
Mr Mahendra Chettri, SDM, Gangtok, Ms Bijayata Kharel, Training Officer, DDMA, along with DDMA staff were present.
The Minister interacted with the recipients and assured them of government assistance as per the norms stipulated under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
The following individuals received the ex gratia cheques
1. Sandeep Sundas (son of the late Kedar Sundas)
2. Roshan Sundas (son of the late Kedar Sundas)
3. Pushpa Sundas (wife of the late Kedar Sundas)
4. Mukesh Chettri (son of the late D.R. Chettri)
5. Suku Doma Lepcha (daughter of Sonam Lepcha)
6. Baichung Lepcha (son of Sonam Lepcha)
7. Arjun Sharma
8. Bal Krishna Karki Dholi (son of the late J.B. Karki Dholi)
9. Umesh Sharma (son of Dularchand Sharma)
10. Abdul Rehman
11. Mohammed Muslim
Additionally, Mr Mohan Basnett, Ms Sushila Basnett, Rewati Cheytri also received cheques on account of partial damages caused to their houses as per SDRF norms
