Second batch Training for Tour Guide started at IHCAE, CHEMCHEY Under SIKKIM INSPIRES Project ,Tourism and Civil Aviation Department.
A sixteen day long training under Quarter -IV of AWP (2024-2025) SIKKIM INSPIRES project, Tourism and Civil Aviation Department started today w.e.f 28th January 2025 to 12th February 2025.at IHCAE, Chemchey.
The inaugural programme of Second Batch of training was graced by Shri.Kazi Sherpa ,Joint Director, Adventure as a chief guest and was attended by Shri.Manoj Kumar Chettri ,Deputy Director, Adventure, Ms.Lamin Thingh Deputy Director,Namchi District , instructor IHCAE, official and staff of Tourism and Civil Aviation Department.
In the programme Joint Director, Adventure highlighted the importance of training and added that the second batch of the training is participated by 65 local unemployed youths included 45 male, 20 Female across the state.He added the aims and objectives of the training is to train local youths in Adventure Tourism to cater growing tourism demand.He also added that the trainees will be awarded a registration certificate from the department which allows them to Start the work as a Government registered Tour Guide in sucessful completion of the course.
Joint Director, Adventure also highlighted upcoming plans of the Department for up skilling the locals in Adventure Tourism activities in the state.
The inaugural programme withnessed interactive session which was participated by all fruitfully.
