Pres Release from SIST Chisopani Namchi District

Namchi, 20 Febuary:
Sikkim Institute of Science and Technology, Chisopani, in collaboration with District Administration Centre Namchi, conducted a three-day long training on Sikkim Service Rules and Office procedures for administrative and finance staff of the institute from 13th to 15th February 2025. The resource persons for the training were Mr. Suraj Rai, District Project Officer, LRPD, Namchi DAC and Mrs. Sharmila Pradhan, Office Superintendent, DC office, Namchi.
DPO Namchi, Mr. Suraj Rai covered the topics 1) The Sikkim Government Establishment Rules 1974, 2) the Sikkim Government Servants’ Conduct Rules, 1981, 3) The Sikkim Government Servants’ (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1985 and 4) The Sikkim Government service (Leave) Rules, 1982. While OS, Mrs. Sharmila Pradhan, imparted training on Administrative functioning and Office procedures. The participants were also given hands on training on office filing processes and systematic maintenance of resisters and files.
The inaugural session was also joined by the Principal cum Director of SIST Prof. Dr. B B Pradhan, who highlighted on the necessity of imparting training to the staff of SIST and expressed his appreciation and gratitude towards the resource persons for their time and availability.
Deputy Director-cum-Administrator of SIST Mr. Ajay Rai offered tokens of appreciation to the resource persons in acknowledgment to their contributions and expressed his sincere gratitude on behalf of the institute during the valedictory function. He also expressed his appreciation and gratitude towards District Collector Namchi Mrs. Anupa Tamling for extending her support in conducting this fruitless training.
The inaugural and closing events were hosted by Dr. Parita Basnet, Assistant Professor, SIST while the vote of thanks was offered by Dr. Prativa Rai, Academic In-charge, SIST.
