Sikkim State Council of Science and Technology Launches Programme for Celebration of National Science Day 2025
28/02/2025 : Sikkim State Council of Science and Technology under Science and Technology Department, Government of Sikkim launched the programme for Celebration of National Science Day 2025 at Sikkim Science Centre Marchak, Ranipool today. Theme for the programme was “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat” catalyzed by National Council for Science and Technology Communication (An autonomous organisation under Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India).
Programme was Inaugurated by Dr. Manoj Sharma, Scientist D, In-charge of Natural History Museum, Marchak, Ranipool.
Welcome address was delivered by Shri. Sanman Subba, Assistant Director, Sikkim Science Centre, Marchak. Following the programme, presentation on the theme was presented by resource person Dr. Deepak Jhajharia, Professor, Dr. Ghanashyam Yuerembam, Assistant Professor from College of Agricultural Engineering and Post Harvest Technology (CAEPHT), Ranipool, Gangtok and Mr. Dheeraj Kumar, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Department, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, Majitar, Sikkim.
Interactive session was kept among the students and resource person wherein students asked questions on various new technology implementation and future scopes of technology in Sikkim. Following the programme EIACP Resource Partner on Ecotourism organised a Pledge taking ceremony on Mission Lifestyle for Environment.
206 students and escort teachers from Gangtok and Pakyong Districts along with officials and staffs of Science and Technology Department took part in the launching programme. Vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Binita Shrestha, Sr. Research Assistant, SSCS&T.
