Joint Inspection for Fire Static and Hydrant Points Installation at Bazaar Areas Sribadam, Kaluk, Rinchenpong, District Soreng. 26th March 2025.
A joint inspection was conducted on 26th March 2025 for the installation of Fire Static Points and Hydrant Points in the bazaar areas of Sribadam, Kaluk, and Rinchenpong. The initiative aims to strengthen fire safety measures and enhance disaster preparedness in these key locations.
The inspection team comprised officials from various departments, including:
- Mr. Dabgyal Lama – B.D.O, Kaluk BAC
- Mr. Roland Pegha – VLO, Land Revenue & Disaster Management
- Mr. Gaurav Subba – Assistant Sub-Inspector, Urban Development Department
- Mr. Bishnu Sharma – Officer In-Charge, Fire Station, Soreng District
- Mr. Kewal Subba– Junior Engineer, P.H.E.D, along with his team
The team was further accompanied by:
- Mr. Sangay Chopel Bhutia – Panchayat Inspector, BAC Kaluk
- Mr. Sonam Tsh. Lepcha – Panchayat President, Samdong-Sribadam GPU
- Mr. Purna Bdr. Subba – Ward Panchayat, Samdong-Sribadam GPU
- Mr. Krishna Prasad Sharma – Panchayat President, Tadong-Rinchenpong GPU
- Miss Rupal Rai – Vice-President, Tadong-Rinchenpong GPU
Additionally, the boundary holders and local stakeholders were present to assess the feasibility of the locations identified for the installation. After a thorough assessment, the following sites were deemed suitable for the project:
1. Samdong – Near Church
2. Forest Area – Upper Tadong, Tato Pani, Kaluk
3. Rinchenpong – Khasmal Area
The proposed static and hydrant points will significantly enhance fire safety in the region, ensuring swift response in case of emergencies. The initiative is part of a broader effort to mitigate fire hazards and improve disaster management infrastructure across the district.
The active participation of local officials, Panchayat members, and boundary holders underscores the community-driven approach to disaster preparedness. The concerned departments will now work on the technical feasibility and implementation phase to ensure the timely execution of the project.
This joint effort highlights the commitment of district authorities and local bodies toward ensuring public safety and disaster resilience in Soreng District.
