Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur today addressed the budget session 2025-26 of the Eleventh Assembly of Sikkim today, emphasizing sustainable development, economic strength and social progress in accordance with the state's long term development policies.
Addressing the Assembly, the Governor mentioned key budget provisions that would promote infrastructure, education, healthcare and empowerment of the rural economy. The budget aims to ensure the overall development of Sikkim, with special attention on environmental sustainability and inclusive progress of all communities.
"This budget reflects our vision of self-sufficient and progressive Sikkim and developed India 2047.
"Through strategic investments in important areas such as tourism, diverse dimensions of self-employment, green energy, we are striving to create new opportunities for youth and empower the state's economy. "
Key features of the budget include accelerating basic structure development, education and skill development, healthcare improvement with advanced medical facilities,
Tourism and Cultural Conservation included eco-tourism, preserving Sikkim's rich cultural heritage, encouraging green and solar energy adoption etc.
Mr. Governor stressed that the budget aims to maintain stability, self-reliance and equivalent development, so that Sikkim can move forward on the path of prosperity while maintaining natural balance and every citizen of the state can benefit from these schemes.
