Valedictory Function of the Workshop on Organic Grower and Hands-on Experience under SANKALP Scheme Held at Dentam, Gyalshing District, Sikkim
Gyalshing, March 27:
The valedictory function of the workshop-cum-hands-on training on Organic Grower, organized under the SANKALP Scheme and implemented by the State Institute of Capacity Building (SICB), Skill Development Department, Government of Sikkim, was successfully held today at Dentam, Gyalshing District, Sikkim.
The event was graced by the presence of key officials and dignitaries, including Mr Dinesh Gurung, Zilla Panchayat Member, Ms Barsha Sunar, Horticulture Development Officer(HDO), Dentam, Panchayat President, along with Panchayat members and other esteemed guests.
During the programme,officials actively engaged with the participants, emphasizing the importance of organic farming as a sustainable and economically viable practice. The workshop aimed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to become successful organic growers while promoting sustainable agricultural practices in the region.
The hands-on training component of the workshop involved practical fieldwork, enabling participants to gain firsthand experience in organic farming techniques. Additionally, sessions on entrepreneurship in organic farming provided insights into developing organic farming as a profitable venture.
The workshop served as a valuable platform for knowledge-sharing, interactive discussions, and real-time learning, empowering participants to adopt organic farming and contribute to Sikkim's mission of sustainable agricultural development.
The event concluded with encouraging remarks from the dignitaries, who commended the efforts of the participants and urged them to apply the skills acquired under the SANKALP Scheme for both personal and community development.
