𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐡𝐤𝐮𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐧
𝐕𝐄𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝟏𝟓𝟗 (𝟐) 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐈𝐊𝐊𝐈𝐌 𝐏𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐀𝐂𝐓, 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟖.
WHEREAS, it has regularly been observed that after the reorganization and creation of Soreng as new district, the footfall in District Administration Centre, offices including bazaar areas and the movement of heavy vehicles for transportation of construction materials and other essential commodities in Soreng Bazar are suddenly in rise.
AND WHEREAS, as a result and the matter of fact, during the peak hour from 0900 hrs to 1100 hrs the reports of traffic congestion and massive traffic jams within the different roads of Soreng Bazar areas are being reported from general public and daily commuters.
NOW, THEREFORE, for the safety, convenience of general public and for the
flawless movement of vehicle during the above periods of time, the undersigned in exercise of power conferred upon me Under Section 159(2) of the Sikkim Police Act, 2008 hereby orders for:
(a) There shall be a complete restriction on the movement of heavy vehicles which includes 407 Tata, Tipper, Trucks, Earthmovers etc. on all official working days w.e.f. 0900 hrs (9 AM) to 1100 hrs (11 AM) in the following routes:
(i) Barakhilay to Jaisy Bhir near CHC, Soreng via Kharka Bazar, Soreng
Dara Bazar and CHC, Soreng.
(ii) Chakung Gatc to Bhir Dara near Power Office, Soreng via Soreng PS,
Giri Golai and Pragati Chowk, Soreng.
(ii) Pragati Chowk, Soreng to Dodak Helipad
(b) This restriction order is not applicable during Government holidays.
(c) This order is exempted to School Bus, Ambulance, Fire & Emergency Services vehicle, Relief & Rescue vehicles for Disaster Management and Troop carrier vehicles of Paramilitary Forces and other emergency vehicles.
This shall come into the effect from April 3, 2025 until further order, in public interest.
