In a significant step towards promoting cleanliness and environmental awareness, Singtam Nagar Panchayat conducted a large-scale Cleanliness Drive today. The initiative, which saw overwhelming participation from government officials and local residents, was the brainchild of the area MLA, Mr.N. B. Dahal, and was equally supported by Singtam Nagar Panchayat president Mr. Suresh Tamang, along with his entire team of councillors and Municipal Executive Officer (MEO), Mr. Ujjal Pandey.
Government employees, municipal staff, and enthusiastic residents joined hands to clean various parts of Singtam, including public spaces, streets, and marketplaces. The drive focused on waste collection, segregation, and proper disposal, in line with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Sikkim’s commitment to a cleaner and greener future.
Speaking on the occasion, officials from Singtam Nagar Panchayat expressed gratitude to all participants and emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining cleanliness. They urged residents to continue adopting sustainable waste management practices and actively support future initiatives.
