Chinmaya Mission Sikkim Centre Celebrates 50th Statehood of Sikkim
Chinmaya Mission Sikkim Centre Celebrated 50th Statehood of Sikkim from 4th April to 6th April 2025 with transformative talks on mind management, youth empowerment and transformation and way for happy living organized at various places in Gangtok and Namchi District.
On April 4, 2025 – Swamini Vimalanandaji, a revered swamini and former Director of Chinmaya International Residential School, Coimbatore delivered a talk on ‘Tips for Happy Living’ at Gurudev Vidyalaya, Chhalamthang, South Sikkim. The session was attended by students of the school and villagers.
On April 5th, 2025, marking the beginning of this year-long initiative, Swamini Vimalanandaji delivered an inspiring talk on ‘Mind Management’ at Nar Bahadur Bhandari Government College, Gangtok. The Chief Guest the program was Hon'ble MLA, Shri Tenzing Norbu Lamtha, Advisor to Environment and Forest department, Guest of honour Dr Ashis Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Kanchanzanga Sikkim State University, Principal of NBBGC, Dr D Purohit, Vice president of Chinmaya Mission Sikkim, Shri SB Subba, former Chairman of SPSC, others prestigious delegates, 220 students of NBBGC, Tadong.
The talk was also video casted through NIC video conferencing to all 11 private universities and 12 government colleges of Sikkim, and also it was live-streamed by IPR Dept. in Government of Sikkim official Facebook page, ensuring that students across the state benefit from the program.
The Chief Guest in his opening remarks thanked Chinmaya Mission for organizing such a useful program and advised and appealed all participants to take part actively. Earlier Dr.L.P.Sharma, Senior Director(IT) of NIC who is also the executive member of Sikkim Chinmaya Mission enlightened the participating youths with seven parameters of youth transformation. Mr. Naresh Chettri who was the 1st runner up of National youth parliament last year shared his inspiring journey through Chimaya mission.
On April 6, 2025 – an inspiring public talk by Swaminiji was held at Nepali Sahitya Parishad Bhawan, Development Area, Gangtok. The talk was on Tips for Happy Living, and the chief guest of program was Prof. smt Gita Nirola, and many other prestigious delegates attended the program.

The 50th anniversary of Sikkim’s Statehood presents a remarkable opportunity for Chinmaya Mission Sikkim to actively participate in this historic milestone. This aligns seamlessly with the state’s official theme:
“Sunaulo, Samriddha, and Samarth Sikkim” (Golden, Prosperous, and Capable Sikkim).
About Swamini Vimalanandaji
A Short Introduction to Swamini Vimalananda ji.
Swamini Vimalananda is a senior disciple of Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda.
After acquiring an Honours degree in
Architecture, her travels made her reflect on life and move from designing of the world of outer space to the seeking of the sacred inner space. The Chinmaya Mission Vedanta Course deepened her spiritual knowledge.
Her passion for education found fulfilment in concretising her Guru’s vision into the Chinmaya Vision Programme (CVP) which now largely reflects in the National Education Policy (NEP) recently introduced in India by the Central Government (July 2020). Her multifarious contribution in the field of education as she headed the Chinmaya Mission Educational Cell for 25 years touched the lives of millions.
A dynamic leader, a serious seeker, a spiritual practitioner, a prodigious learner, a visionary educator, a nature lover, a prolific writer and a popular speaker, she travels around the world guiding seekers of all age groups. Her simple style of talking has captivated the intellectual and faithful alike. Her sense of aesthetics and depth of knowledge reflects in all her activities, including her writing.
She has authored books on a variety of subjects –Vedantic commentaries, Indian Culture series, answering youth queries, child-centred activities and Education theories. Her books are very popular as are her YouTube talks.
Through this initiative, Chinmaya Mission Sikkim remains committed to guiding and empowering the youth of Sikkim as they step into the future with confidence and clarity.
