World Homoeopathy Day, under the theme “Study, Teaching, and Research,” was celebrated at the Children's Home, Namchi on 10th April by the AYUSH team Dr Neelima Thatal,Dr Kavita Thapa,Pharmacist,Lab technician and Medical attendent from Department of AYUSH,Namchi District Hospital organized by the National AYUSH Mission, Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim.
The focus of the program was to promote awareness about the AYUSH system, especially the Homoeopathy system, in observance of World Homoeopathy Day.
We provided career guidance to students interested in taking up various opportunities available under the AYUSH system of medicines
Health check-ups were conducted,with free distribution of Homoeopathy medicines including hemoglobin tests for all children, blood pressure check-ups for those above 16 years of age, and random blood sugar tests for the staff.
It was observed that many children had moderate anemia,Skin problems and some had dental issues, for which they were referred to the Dental Department. Nutritional advice and medicines were provided to those with anemia, and they were advised to repeat the hemoglobin test after one month. Additionally, all were encouraged to maintain proper oral hygiene.
The program concluded with the distribution of IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials and refreshments.
