REPORT ON AWARENESS PROGRAM ON WASTE MANAGEMENT CONDUCTED AT GOVERNMENT SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, SORENG UNDER SORENG DISTRICT HELD ON 19TH APRIL 2025
Soreng Urban development department organised awareness program on waste management dated 19th April 2025 to educate Students, teacher and staffs on waste management about the importance of proper waste disposal and recycling practices. The program aimed to create a Sustainable environment and in still responsible waste management habits among the School Community.
The Primary objective of the awareness program was to raise awareness about the impact of improper waste disposal on the environment, human health, and wildlife. The program also aimed to promote recycling, reduce waste generation, and encourage the adoption of eco-friendly practices within the School premises.
The awareness program included various activities such as interactive workshops, presentations, and demonstrations on waste Segregation, and demonstrations on waste Segregation, composting and recycling. Students participated in hand-on activities like waste segregation, from primary Section up to Class five (V).
The awareness program successfully sensitized the school community about the importance of waste management and inspired them to take action towards a cleaner and greener environment. Students and teachers were motivated to implement waste segregation practices, reduce plastic usage and promote recycling within the school. The program created a sense of responsibility among the participants towards preserving the environment and conserving natural resources.
The Awareness program on waste management at Soreng senior secondary school was a significant step towards creating a sustainable and eco-conscious school environment by educating students teachers and staff about the importance of responsible waste management, the programme through continued efforts and initiatives, the school strives to be a leaders in promoting environmental sustainability and fostering a culture of waste reduction and recycling.
