Annual General Meeting of Sikkim State Agriculture Officers Welfare Association (SSAOWA) Held at SAMETI Hall
Gangtok, April 22, 2025:
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sikkim State Agriculture Officers Welfare Association (SSAOWA) was held today at SAMETI Hall, Tadong. The meeting witnessed the gracious presence of senior-most members, Principal Directors Shri Tshering Thendup Bhutia and Shri Rajen Thapa, Principal Chief Engineer Shri Jeewan Kumar Chettri, President Shri Tshering Chophel Bhutia, General Secretary Shri Passang Tamang, Treasurer Dr. Pratap Subba, along with all Executive Members and a large number of members from across districts.
The meeting commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Smt. Tashi Choki Bhutia, Joint Secretary of SSAOWA from Gangtok District.
Newly inducted Agriculture Development Officers (ADOs) and Horticulture Development Officers (HDOs) were formally welcomed into the Association by President of SSAOWA.
Dr. Pratap Subba, Treasurer, provided a comprehensive overview of the Association’s financial status and key expenditures during the fiscal year.
Shri Passang Tamang, General Secretary, presented a detailed report on the previous meeting and shared updates on agendas discussed and actions taken.
An open house discussion followed, where members shared valuable insights, suggestions, and concerns pertaining to service welfare, professional development, and departmental coordination.
The keynote address was delivered by the President of SSAOWA, Shri Tshering Chophel Bhutia, who expressed deep appreciation to all members for their support and active participation. He also addressed the points raised during the meeting and reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of agriculture officers in the state.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Karma Chewang Bhutia, Vice President of SSAOWA, Gyalshing District.
The overall programme was smoothly hosted by Smt. Rebecca Gurung, Vice President of SSAOWA, Pakyong District, ensuring seamless coordination of the day’s proceedings.
The AGM concluded on a note of solidarity, with members reiterating their commitment towards collective welfare, professional growth, and strengthening the agricultural extension system in Sikkim.
