Soreng, April 24:
Today, the National Panchayati Raj Diwas was observed by the 20-Malbasey GPU of Soreng district, to commemorate the 50 years of Statehood. As part of the commemorative activities, the 20-Malbasey GPU carried out various activities at Gram Prashashan Kendra (GPK).
The programme was attended by Mrs Gauri Tamang CDPO (Soreng) as chief guest and was accompanied by Mrs Pabitra Bhandari Panchayat President, Mr Bishal Basnett Panchayat Member, officials and staff of GPK.
While delivering the welcome address, Mr Bishal Basnett spoke about the Rashtriya Panchayati Raj Diwas, where he highlighted the significance of the event.
Extending her warm wishes on the occasion of the 50 years of Statehood, Mrs Pabitra Bhandari urged all to contribute in the activities of the 50 years of Statehood.
The chief guest of the day, Mrs Gauri Tamang extended and congratulated all present on the occasion, encouraging them to work in coordination for the welfare of the society. She then emphasised the importance of the ICDS centres and the benefits to children.
The event concluded with the distribution of the essential items to the children of the ICDS by the Panchayat members of 20-Malbasey GPU.
