FAMEx Programme Conducted at Chakung Science College, Soreng District.

On April 24, 2025, Chakung Science College hosted a Field-Level Awareness and Mock Exercise (FAMEx) programme, chaired by the District Collector-cum- Chairman DDMA (Soreng). Organised by LR&DMD in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the event commenced promptly at 11:00 AM.
Dr. Sudhan Pradhan, Principal (Chakung Science College), presented a welcome address and an introductory speech, setting the tone for the day's activities. The session included a briefing by the District Project Officer (DPO), Ms. Rajni Pega, who provided valuable insights on disaster preparedness and mitigation, emphasized earthquake relief strategies.
The agenda advanced with Mr. Bajrang Lal, Sub-Inspector from the NDRF team, introducing the personnel and their roles. A practical demonstration followed, showcasing critical techniques and procedures such as:
CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) methods
- Heimlich manoeuvre
Stretcher-making techniques
- Snake bite first-aid response
- “Drop, Cover, and Hold” techniques for earthquake safety
The programme drew active engagement from approximately 150 participants, including the principal, faculty members, DPO staff, and college students. It concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sudan Pradhan expresses appreciation for the efforts of the organizing bodies and enthusiastic participation by the attendees.
Additionally, similar exercises were conducted in Hathidunga Secondary School and JNV Rothak, reinforcing the programme's impact across the district.
