Ecclesiastical Department to Host a One-Day Meditation Session on 'Inner Peace of Mind' as Part of Sikkim's Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
As part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Sikkim's Statehood, the Ecclesiastical Department, Government of Sikkim, is organising a one-day meditation session titled "Inner Peace of Mind" on 28th April 2025, starting at 8:00 AM at the Indoor Gymnasium Hall, Paljor Stadium, Gangtok.
In a time marked by fast-paced change, emotional stress, and societal challenges, the search for "Inner Peace of Mind" is no longer a luxury, it is a necessity. A restless or disturbed mind not only affects individual well-being, but also impacts families, communities, and the social fabric at large. Recognising this, the Ecclesiastical Department brings attention to the
timeless wisdom that when the mind is at peace, clarity emerges and compassion arises.
This unique session led by H.E. Sey Namkha Rinpoche of Nepal, seeks to guide young participants on how cultivating "Inner Peace of Mind" can serve as a powerful foundation for emotional resilience, ethical conduct, and balanced living. It is particularly relevant in today's world, where anxiety, impulsive behaviour, and societal unrest often trace back to the turmoil within one's own "mind".
The initiative further reflects the broader vision of the Government to not only preserve its rich spiritual traditions, but to apply them meaningfully in modem life.
The meditation session will have the participation of students from schools around Gangtok, Monastic Schools, Department of Buddhist & Tibetan Studies and Sowa Rigpa,
Namgyal Institute of Tibetology.
