"One Day at School"
As part of the 50th Year of Statehood celebration, the District Magistrate of Soreng initiated the "One Day at School" program. Under this initiative, all department heads were directed to visit schools to raise awareness and promote quality education among students.
In continuation of this program, the Women, Child, Senior Citizen, and Divyangjan Welfare Department (WCSCDWD), in collaboration with the District Administrative Centre, organized the "One Day at School" event at Tharpu Senior Secondary School.
CPDO Soreng, Smt. Gouri Tamang, along with representatives from OSC, DHEW, and DCPU, engaged with students to inform them about the services and initiatives carried out by the department. The session was student-centric and included career counseling, highlighting various opportunities within the WCSCDWD.
The session was interactive and featured a quiz based on the 50th Year of Statehood celebration.
Discussions also covered key support services such as Childline (1098), Women Helpline (181), DHEW, One Stop Centre, and ICDS.
The enthusiastic participation of students indicated that the session was impactful, helping raise awareness about the department’s services and available support mechanisms.
