Exposure Visit-Cum-Training Programme to Budang Kamarey Pakyong District, Organised by ATMA Soreng District
Soreng, April 25: Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Soreng District, organised an exposure visit-cum-training programme to Budang Kamarey, Pakyong District aimed at Providing Exposure to the farmers of District and enhancing Practical skills of the Farmers.
The Team was led by Mr Manish Pradhan, (Deputy Project Director ATMA Soreng District) accompanied by Ms Amimsha Limboo (Agriculture Development Officer Soreng District) along with Progressive Farmers of the District, Assistant Technology Managers (ATMs), Block Technology Managers (BTMs) ATMA, District and Block Farmers Advisory Committee (DFAC & BFAC) Chairpersons and field functionaries.
The Team visited the Farm of Mr Khem Prasad Bhattarai where different Agri and Allied enterprises were demonstrated to the Progressive farmers which were, Ornamental Fish Farming (Ornamental Aquaculture).
Mr Khem Parsad Bhattrai highlighted the potential income generation, Diverse species and sustainable practices of ornamental fish Rearing. He also demonstrated the feeding, Breeding and health care of ornamental fish species.
Scientific Bee keeping: He also highlighted the methods and practices for bee keeping citing the importance of bees in pollination, biodiversity conservation, income generation through bee farms along with methods of honey extraction, pests and diseases of Bees and their proper scientific management.
Vegetable Production: He highlighted different vegetable production technology in his farms such as Chilli production through use of plastic mulches, production technology of Sponge gourd and Snake gourd vegetables.
The initiative is aimed at providing a learning through Practical demonstrations from Farmer to Farmer and also aims at improving flexibility and adaptations of different Farming technologies through knowledge and skills aimed at improving agricultural Productivity.
