Launch of New Limbu Palam Video "Phagimso Mep:ma" by SMLGC Students
Gyalshing, May 1:
The Department of Limbu, Sanchaman Limboo Government College (SMLGC), Gyalshing, proudly hosted the official launch of the new Limbu Palam video titled "Phagimso Mep:ma" presented by Mr. Suk Hang Khamdhak and the Limbu students of SMLGC. The launch event was held at the G-33 Conference Hall, SMLGC.
The event was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Thupten Palzang Bhutia, Dean of Student Affairs, SMLGC. Also gracing the occasion was Mr. B.M. Subba, Vice Principal of SMLGC, whose unwavering support continues to inspire student-led cultural initiatives.
The launch ceremony witnessed active participation from faculty members of various departments including Limbu, Political Science, Lepcha, Physical Education, and History. A large number of postgraduate and undergraduate Limbu students were also present and enthusiastically engaged throughout the programme.
The Department of Limbu remains steadfast in its commitment to nurturing holistic student development by promoting academic excellence alongside cultural enrichment. This new Palam video reflects the department's consistent efforts in preserving and promoting indigenous Limbu culture and fostering strong community engagement through artistic expressions.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Bhutia applauded the students’ dedication and the department's leadership in safeguarding the rich cultural heritage of the Limbu community. Mr. B.M. Subba also highlighted the importance of such creative endeavours in building a well-rounded student community that values both tradition and modern scholarship.
