One Day School Programme was Organised by Election Cell of Soreng District Administration at Dodak Secondary School
Dodak, Soreng, 03/05/25 — The Election Cell of the District Administration, Soreng, successfully conducted 'One Day school' programme at Dodak Secondary School as part of its voter awareness and civic education initiative. The event was held in the presence of Mr DR Bista, Additional District Collector (ADC), Soreng, the Assistant Director from the Election Department, Assistant Director from IT Dept, along with the staff of the Election Cell.
The programme coincided with the celebration of 50 years of Sikkim’s statehood and aimed to educate students
on the significance of electoral participation and the democratic process in India.
The event featured a series of engaging and informative activities, including:
A detailed briefing on the electoral process in India.
Celebration of 50 years of state hood, Power Point presentation on electoral registration procedures. Power point presentation on cyber security and safe usage of internet by Mr Amir Bhandari, Assistant Director (IT Department).
A short skit performed by staff of election cell promoting the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign), in sync with State Government's Nasha Mukth Sikkim Abhiyan.
A quiz competition to test and enhance students’ knowledge about
democracy, elections, and civic duties. A brief presentation by concerned BLO on voter registration process and status report of Dodak polling station and various other educational activities promoting awareness and responsible citizenship.
The programme received enthusiastic participation from students and faculty alike, reflecting a growing interest in civic education among the youth. The ADC and Election Cell expressed appreciation to Dodak Secondary School for its cooperation and support in organizing the event.
The District Administration emphasized its commitment to nurturing informed and responsible future voters through continued outreach and awareness programmes in educational institutions
across the district.
The Headmaster in his address welcomed the initiative of the District Administration and provided positive feedback of conducting such activities in the school.
The One Day at School is a programme initiated by Soreng District Administration wherein, all departments dedicate thier one day at school educating the students by the subject specialist about the activities that are under taken by the respective departments about the various schemes, opportunities and people centric programmes of the government.
At the outset, welcome address was delivered by Mrs Ambika Rai Office Supritendent (OS), while the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr MK Gurung AD Election.
