Gyalshing, May 4: A special cleanliness drive under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was organized at Dubdi Buddhist Monastery, Yuksom by 72nd Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The event was conducted under the guidance of Shri Jai Prakash, Commandant, 72nd Battalion, SSB. The objective of the program was to clean the monastery premises and spread awareness among the public about the importance of cleanness. SSB personnel, monks of the monastery, and local residents enthusiastically participated in the campaign.
After the successful conclusion of the cleanliness program, a friendly cricket match was organized at the Yuksum Senior Secondary School to promote harmony and cooperation. The objective of the match was to strengthen mutual understanding, harmony, and sportsmanship between the local youth and the SSB personnel. All participants displayed discipline and enthusiasm during the match.
While addressing the gathering, the Commandant stated that cleanliness is not just a government scheme but a moral duty of every citizen. He urged the youth and all sections of society to actively participate in nation-building.
A large number of SSB officers, and villagers were present in the event. Such programs help in fostering positive energy, unity, and a spirit of participation in the community.
