The Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, with his continued concern for the healthcare sector and the well-being of the people of Sikkim, flagged off the Annual Health Camp from Raj Bhavan today. The event also commemorates the 50th anniversary of Statehood. Doctors and specialists from STNM Hospital, CRH Manipal and Neotia Siliguri , departed from Raj Bhavan to PTC Yangang, where the Raj Bhavan’s Annual Health Camp is scheduled to take place.
Fifty years ago, the people of Sikkim embraced democracy to achieve the lofty ideals of freedom, liberty, and socio-political and economic development. Looking back over these five decades, Sikkim has made remarkable progress across all sectors—one of the most significant being the improvement of healthcare facilities.
During the flag off, the Hon’ble Governor said “Health has remained a priority for the state, and Raj Bhavan has upheld its commitment by organizing the Annual Health Camp as a customary gesture to support and promote public health”.
