Rangpo, June 16:
An Anti-Drug Awareness Programme was successfully organized today at Government ITI Rangpo under the banner of Jan Samvad Social Council, Sikkim Wing.
The event was graced by Shri Rohit Raj Maharaj, Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Sanjay Chettri, Chairman of Jan Samvad Social Council, India, and Mrs. Paru Ruchal, Senior Superintendent of Police, Pakyong District, attended as Special Guests, along with the SDPO, Rongli, MEO Rangpo, and Shri Chandan Bajgai, Principal of GITI Rangpo.
The programme focused on spreading awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse and emphasized the importance of rehabilitation for existing users. Sr. SP Mrs. Paru Ruchal also elaborated on the legal implications under the NDPS Act, raising awareness among students and attendees about the serious consequences of drug-related offenses.
In addition, the event served as a platform to highlight the upcoming World Youth Skills Day 2025, marking the inauguration of a month-long celebration dedicated to skill development and youth empowerment.
