Information & Public Relations Department
Launched on October 13 and made operational from October 14, the ‘Connect to CM’ initiative of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang Golay, has emerged as a truly pro-people reform that embodies the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s visionary concept of “Administration at Your Doorstep” (आँगनमा प्रशासन).
In just 15 days of operation, the initiative has received an overwhelming response from the public, registering over 5,000 calls with an average of 300–400 calls per day. This remarkable engagement reflects the trust, confidence, and enthusiasm of citizens toward this new and accessible communication channel with the Chief Minister’s Office.
To gain a firsthand understanding of its structure and functioning, Press Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Yougan Tamang, visited the ‘Connect to CM’ Cell today, accompanied by Secretary, CMO, Shri Karma Namgyal Bhutia. During the visit, the Press Secretary reviewed the day-to-day operations, call-handling procedures, and the systematic process through which public grievances, suggestions, and queries are recorded and forwarded to the respective nodal officers and departments for prompt redressal.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Yougan Tamang highlighted that the primary objective of this initiative is to create a direct, transparent, and efficient medium for citizens to reach out to the Chief Minister’s Office without any barriers.
“‘Connect to CM’ is a visionary, people-centric initiative launched by the Hon’ble Chief Minister to strengthen the bridge between the government and the citizens,” said Shri Tamang. “It reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to accessibility, transparency, and accountability in governance.”
Through this platform, citizens can make enquiries regarding various government schemes, policies, and applications, as well as share their grievances, suggestions, feedback, and innovative ideas. In doing so, the people of Sikkim become active participants in governance, contributing directly to policy improvement and administrative efficiency.
By seamlessly integrating technology with public service, ‘Connect to CM’ exemplifies a responsive and participatory administration that places the welfare of the people at its core.
In essence, ‘Connect to CM’ is not merely a communication channel, it stands as a symbol of inclusive governance and the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s commitment to bringing the government closer to every citizen. It reflects a model of leadership rooted in empathy, efficiency, and integrity, ensuring that the voice of every Sikkimese reaches the heart of the government.
Shri Tamang also stated that the number of calls under the ‘Connect to CM’ initiative is steadily increasing, reflecting growing public engagement and trust. At times, there may be a slight delay in responding to certain calls or queries due to the need for detailed official verification and follow-up investigations. However, this should not be misunderstood as neglect, every call is duly recorded and addressed with sincerity.
Citizens are kindly requested to reach out again between 10:30 AM and 4:00 PM at the following numbers for prompt assistance if their concerns remain pending:
80016-81188 or 93327-81188
It is also noteworthy that nearly 85% of the total queries received so far have already been addressed, underscoring the government’s commitment to timely and transparent communication with the people.
