Namchi | 12 December: The first batch of the Student Training Program under Sarathi 1.0 successfully concluded today at PM Shri Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Namchi. The programme was graced by the Additional Political Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Namchi District, as the Chief Guest, accompanied by the Addl Political Secretary to HCM Pakyong District, who also serves as the Project Director of Sarathi 1.0. Present on the occasion were Chief Education Officer Shri Suraj Rai, Principal Smt. Bandana Rai and officials associated with the Sarathi 1.0 initiative.
Guided by the visionary leadership of our Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) and his steadfast commitment towards creating an “Addiction-Free Sikkim and a Mentally Healthy Sikkim,” the Sarathi 1.0 initiative, supported by Titan Company Ltd., continues to serve as a transformative programme aimed at empowering youth and educators. The initiative focuses on addressing substance misuse, promoting mental well-being, and instilling moral values across communities.
For this first batch, a total of 32 students—2 boys and 2 girls each from 8 government schools in Namchi District—were trained. The two-day training programme concluded today, followed by the distribution of certificates to all participating students by the Chief Guest.
The trained students will now act as ambassadors in their respective schools, working proactively to address and root out issues related to substance abuse, mental health challenges, and social concerns within their institutions and communities.
