PRESS RELEASE ON AWARENESS-CUM- TRAINING SESSION ON ONLINE MARKING ORDER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AT GYALSHING DISTRICT

Gyalshing,Sept 3: Forest Territorial Division organized an awareness and training programme on the newly developed Online Marking Order Management System. The event was graced by three Zilla Panchayat Members of Gyalshing District Mr. Purna Bir Limboo,Ms. Krishna Kumari Chettri, and Ms. Subitra Sanyasi as Guests of Honour at Zilla Bhawan Kyongsa,today.
The programme was attended by DFO(T) Gyalshing Mr.Kshitij Saxena IFS, ACF(T) Mr. Milan Kr. Sharma, ACF Mr. Bishnu P. Sharma, ACF(BAC Dentam) Mr. Pankaj Pradhan.Range Officers, Panchayat Presidents, Panchayat members, JFMC Presidents, Block Officers, Head Forest Guards, and members of the public were also in attendance.
The programme commenced with offering of Khadas to the Zilla Panchayat Members, followed by a welcome speech from RO Mr.Palchen T. Bhutia, who provided a brief overview of the Online Marking Order Management System. First session of the training was led by Assistant Programmer Shri. Chewang from the technical team of the Forest Department Headquarter, who provided detailed instructions on how to fill out the Online Marking Order form using the 'markmytree.nic.in' website.
Subsequently,through an interactive session, several questions and doubts raised by the audience members were addressed in detail by the ACF and resource persons from Gangtok.
After the session, the DFO(T) spoke on the importance of Marking Order for public and elaborated on how the Forest & Environment
department aims to improve the lives of people by stream lining the Marking Order Management System through a robust and user friendly online process. He urged both uniformed and non-uniformed staff of the Gyalshing Forest Division to take responsibility for hand holding the general public for ease of access of this new system and requested Panchayat representatives to lend their support in this effort. It was
communicated to the gathering that this Online Marking Order System is an effort towards Good Governance and for taking the Government programmes and processes to the doorstep of public.
Taking advantage of the opportunity of audience with panchayat representatives, the gathering was also given a live demo on how to register on the Forest Fire Alert System of Forest Survey of India. The gathering,which included approximately 100 people, were all registered on'fsiforestfire.gov.in' for timely satellite based alerts on Forest Fire in the District. This was aimed at increasing awareness on Forest Fire and for reducing the response time for Forest Fire-fighting in the District.
Subsequently, Guest of Honour Mr. Purna Bir Limboo expressed his satisfaction on the newly incorporated Online Marking Order
Management System. He assured the support of Panchayat representatives in the endeavours of the Department to make Government processes simpler and more efficient.
The first session subsequently concluded with a vote of thanks by RO(T) Gyalshing.
In the second technical session, field Forest
staff were given a detailed briefing regarding the Online Marking Order process. They were given hands on training on how to efficiently operate this system and assist the public in using the same.
