Pakyong, November 29th: An awareness program on Child Marriage-free India (Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat) was organised by the Women and Child Development Department at New Market ICDS, Pakyong on 29th November 2024.
The program commenced with a pledge and welcome speech by Gender specialist Miss Kusum Sharma of W&CDD. She further discussed the "Prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006"
Mr. Kalzang Bhutia, case worker elaborated on the issues of child marriage, prevention, facts and figures and justice delivery system.
W&CDD saw active participation of Aganwadi workers and lactating and pregnant mothers.
Ministry of Women and Child Development launched “Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat” on 27/11/2024 at Vigyan Bhawan. Today marks the concluding day of the four- day awareness program under Child Marriage Free India.
