In line with the "Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat" initiative, Raj Bhavan Sikkim celebrated Odisha's foundation day today.
The event began with a welcome address by Ms Deeki Pema, PRO Raj Bhavan.
Followed by cultural performances by the staff of Raj Bhavan.
Secretary of Raj Bhavan, Shri JD Bhutia, highlighted Odisha's significance, noting that it is the birthplace of India's current President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu.
He also emphasized Odisha's historical and religious importance, tracing back to the Kalinga empire, and its abundant natural resources, contributing to its status as one of the top ten performing states in India.
He also underscored the importance of State Day celebrations in fostering national unity amidst India's diverse cultural landscape.
