A ceremony was organized today on the occasion of 134th Ambedkar Jayanti in Sikkim Legislative Assembly premises, Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur participated as Chief Guest.
Meanwhile, Hon'ble Governor said Dr. Offered wreaths remembering the thoughts of Ambedkar and his contributions.
The program had a dignified presence of Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr. Prem Singh Tamang, Hon'ble Assembly President, Vice President, Ministers, MLAs, Advisers, Mayor, Deputy Mayor and other honorable government officials.
Hon'ble Governor in his address. Congratulating all Sikkim residents on 134th birth anniversary of Ambedkar that today gives us an opportunity to remember the great personalities who have contributed significantly towards strengthening social justice, equality, equality and inclusive development.
Hon'ble Governor said that Sikkim has set an exemplary example in building social harmony. Our state's vision of "Golden, Prosperous and Competent Sikkim" is contributing to India's inclusive development and determined to achieve the goal of developed India. He also emphasized that by adopting the ideals of Baba Saheb, Sikkim became a state that can provide leadership to the whole country on social and economic fronts.
He called on the occasion to pledge to embody the life and thoughts of Baba Saheb and forward equality and empowerment in society.
In addition to this, the "Bhim Chetna" memorial was also released in the program today.
During the ceremony, students who excel in 10th and 12th grade of the Scheduled Caste community were also motivated by presenting certificates.
